Dogs have a way of finding the people who need them, and filling an emptiness we didn’t ever know we had

Target Issue: Active public engagement and education has been effective in communicating the importance of spaying and neutering pets. However, financial and geographic barriers pose logistical challenges for many pet parent’s ability to get Fido from home to the clinic.

Our Solutions:

Working with community animal control departments, FDF will provide funding for and/or purchase a designated and FDF branded van equipped to transport dogs from their home to a selected community provider (veterinary clinic, animal hospital, private vet office) for spaying and neutering. The van will be driven and managed through a partnership agreement with FDF who will provide the funding for the position either in partnership with the city or through a committed sponsor. Pet parents who are facing financial and geographic barriers that prevent them from being able to get their pet to receive this vital service, will be identified and offered the service at no fee to them.
